Equity in Transportation and Access

The systems we rely on to move through cities are mirrors of inequality. Research on pavement conditions in Massachusetts revealed how environmental justice communities bear disproportionate burdens from deteriorating roads, leading to higher costs and greater health risks. At the same time, my exploration of a car-free San Francisco is rooted in a belief that shared transit and pedestrian spaces can reimagine culture and public life in urban settings. Across both, I see transportation as more than logistics but about who has access, who feels safe, and how streets can either divide or connect communities.
